Your Streams Can’t Match Mine – Singer Cheque Disses Abuja Rappers After Being Trolled

Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, Akanbi Bamidele Brett, professionally known as Cheque, has taken a swipe at Abuja-based rappers.

It all started with a rapper, Tomi Obanure’s comparison where he said those artistes who live in the nation’s capital are far better than Cheque.

He went ahead to mention a popular lyricist known as PsychoYP, saying that he would take the ‘History’ singer to the cleaners.

Tomi wrote; “YP would spin cheque like a beyblade, like a load cycle, like rims in a 2003 mtv base video, like a panasonic standing fan.”

His opinion generated controversy as it led to a debate on microblogging platform, Twitter, and another Abuja rap artiste named Zilla Oaks said that Cheque is good, but he does not measure up to them.

Zilla wrote; “NO BE SAY CHEQUE NO GOOD OOOOOO!!!! Don’t get Tomi Wrong. He just really no reach us. And I love the boy he hard die but e get as Abuja boys steelo Dey eh. No worry we Dey talk too much.”

In response to the low blows, Cheque who is signed to Phyno’s PentHauze Music, said he respects them but they are insignificant because their style is only appreciated in Abuja.

He then shared a snapshot showing he amassed 31 million streams on a platform and went on to say that he would take them serious if they can match any of his streaming numbers.

Cheque wrote; “Love & respect to Abj hiphop but when you guys start doing actual numbers outside your circle holla at me. I raise you 30m streams on just 1 platform⏳”
