Quintavious Grier (born 1986) popularly known as Unfoonk is an American-born singer, songwriter, and hip-hop artist with an expressive, heartfelt vocal style who began his career in late 2019.

The rapper sat down for an interview with B High ATL in April 2021, where he revealed some information regarding his 11 years behind bars. During the interview, he shared how his brother, Young Thug saved his life by helping him get out of a life sentence. Unfoonk received a call from his brother, Young Thug, who told him to come home. He couldn’t believe his brother and went to talk to his lawyer, Brian. His lawyer later confirmed that he is coming home in the next two years.
Unfoonk served 11 years of his life sentence and eventually made his way back home in October 2019. He thanked and credited his brother, Young Thug for spearheading his release from the jail. Unfoonk revealed in the interview that Young Thug put the real money to get him out of the prison. After getting out of the prison, he was signed to his brother’s record label, Young Stoner Life Records in October 2020.
After signing a record deal, he took advice from his brother who told him to continue to feed his mind. Even though he had started writing music when he was in prison, he started fresh by creating all-new songs with a fresh mind and perspective. Unfoonk was motivated by the opportunity given to him after he sees other YSL members and his brother perform in front of thousands of people. At that moment, he made up his mind and decided that he would give all his time to the music.
Unfoonk dropped his debut mixtape titled “On the Way” in 2019. After that, he became a part of YSL’s next project “11 Years No Tears” in the year 2020. The mixtape included the popular street anthem titled “Mob Ties” and “Slime Life Shawty”. Both the tracks received a mission of views on YouTube. Other than his solo songs, many famous rappers such as Lil Keed, Yung Mal, and Yag Gotti made appearances on his tape.
