Snake Bites Ede Poly Student, Receiving Treatment At LAUTECH

A student of Federal Polytechnic Ede was a victim of a ferocious snake bite yesternight along the school library. Albeit, she was rushed into the medical center where a suppressive injection was reportedly administered to her. She was eventually referred to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital where she is receiving appropriate treatment at the time of collating this news.

Meanwhile, a rumour has been running circles within the campus that the student was given a wrong injection which prompted the DSA and SU President to inquire from the medical centre. The medical centre however repudiated this rumour bluntly.

Our correspondent said, “the injection was not wrong just that they didn’t have the suitable injection for a snake bite, so they gave her a suppressant to relieve her pains and as well buy her enough time to reach LAUTECH”.

However, the students expressed their dissatisfaction as they were dropped and left stranded by the school ambulance. They also frowned at the inappropriate injection given to their colleague which ended up worsening the health condition of the patient.

Fortunately, the patient is safely receiving treatment at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. Nevertheless, it is also noteworthy that the DSA has responsibly bore the financial burden of the hospital bill.
