EDE POLY ASUP: Is the Strike Affecting Both RPT and DPT ?

It is self – explanatory that since the embarkment of the Strike action by the academic staff Union of polytechnic (ASUP) some schools have submits to total compliance .

As the strike action Continues to loom,you will recall that the Federal -owned institution (Federal Polytechnic Ede) went on strike yesterday 12th of December, following the directive given by the ASUP National Executive Committee to shut down all activities.

However, following the blin of all academic activities in Federal Polytechnic Ede, NAIJAPARRY have received enquiries demanding to know if the Daily Part time programme DPT & Regular Part time programme RPT ,the duo which are regulated by the Institution are involve in the Strike or not .

Our Correspondent, on the field today. ” some lecturers of the polytechnic will not participate in the strike action declared by ASUP, they have pulled out as they are not binded” a reputable Staff gave this submission on thursday in a brief interview.

The reputable Staff of the School disclosed, when asked about the involvement of PT lecturers, the Staff elongated that ” It’s complicated” saying “there exist a faction of ASUP in the school, Known as SPC & E, dominated by Senior lecturers, Chiefs and its equivalent” adding that “they have opted out of the strike action and some of them were in class yesterday, I’m not sure if It’s limited to PT, more so, PT lecturers are not binded by the resolutions of ASUP” he said.

So, DPT and RPT students are not affected by the ASUP indefinite strike.
