COVID-19: Reopen All Tertiary Institutions Now – Students Tell FG

The National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) has demanded the reopening of all tertiary institutions in the country in the interest of the students.

The leadership of NAPS during a peaceful protest in Ibadan the Oyo state capital stated that now that markets, worship centers and other places earlier lockdown following the outbreak of covid 19 have been reopened, tertiary institutions should not be abandoned.

The protesters with placards of various inscriptions and led by the National President of the body, Comrade Olalere Adetunji urged the federal government to reopen tertiary institutions with no further delay.

The students body condemned the attitude of the federal ministry of Education to the plights of Nigerian students and thereby issued a 14 days ultimatum to government to take the right steps.

Also, President of the Student Union Government, Federal Cooperative College, Eleyele, Ilesanmi Moses, disclosed that the continuous closure of tertiary institutions us turned most students to internet fraudsters.

They appealed to stakeholders to prevail on the federal government on the need to reopen tertiary institutions in the country.
