As the nephew and adopted son of the renowned professional wrestler Haku, he collaborates with his cousin and adoptive brother Tanga Loa, forming the tag team known as Guerrillas of Destiny (G.O.D). Beyond NJPW, he has competed in Mexico’s Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), where he secured the CMLL World Tag Team Championship twice. Tama Tonga achieved a milestone by winning the ROH World Tag Team Championship at G1 Supercard, making him the third wrestler to secure championships in NJPW, CMLL, and ROH, following Rocky Romero and Matt Taven.

Before embarking on his wrestling career, Tama Tonga served in the United States Air Force for six years, stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base as a B-2 Spirit mechanic. His journey into professional wrestling began after a decision made in 2004 with his brother Tevita, who was playing college football at the time. Upon completing their respective commitments three years later, they pursued their shared dream of becoming professional wrestlers.

The brothers started their professional wrestling career in November 2008 as The Sons of Tonga, initially wrestling in Southern Championship Wrestling (Florida). Subsequently, they made appearances in World Xtreme Wrestling (WXW) and Puerto Rico’s World Wrestling Council (WWC) under the same name. Despite a WWE tryout in 2008, only Tevita was offered a contract, leading Alipate to continue wrestling under the name Kava in WXW.

His wrestling career evolved through various promotions, and he eventually became a prominent member of the Bullet Club. In recent events, he faced challenges within the group, leading to the formation of the stable Guerrillas of Destiny and their alignment with other wrestlers in the Hontai stable in New Japan.

His journey in NJPW includes significant victories, such as winning the NEVER Openweight Championship at Wrestling Dontaku, although he later lost it to Karl Anderson.
