Jeremiah Ogbodo born on 4 July 1991, better known as Swanky Jerry, is a Nigerian celebrity fashion stylist who is mainly recognized for designing influential celebrities for red carpet looks.
Swanky Jerry has styled almost every famous Nigerian celeb and made a fortune with it. Due to his social media presence, he also earns from brand sponsorships and movies. Swanky Jerry is famous today for his appearance on the Netflix reality show Young, Famous and African which took over the whole of Africa.
Swanky Jerry reportedly began his career as a celebrity fashion stylist by launching his brand, Swanky Signatures Styling, in June 2012. Aside from styling clients for red-carpet appearances and video shoots, coverage of his work has appeared in magazines and online publications. He styled Darey for House of Maliq, D’banj for a photo shoot, Praiz, and Davido for the “All of You” music video shoot, among others.
In 2014, Swanky Jerry won Fashion Stylist of the Year at the Lagos Fashion Awards. After earning his high school diploma, he enrolled in Commando Day High School in Oshodi. Swanky Jerry went on to pursue a degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos (UniLag). He also received formal certification in fashion design from the School of Style in New York.
Swanky Jerry is one of Nigeria’s most sought-after celebrity stylists. He has dressed up Davido, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade, Pearl Assimi, Sarkodie, Nyanda, AKA, and many others. He has also worked with many African Presidents and First Ladies, including former President Goodluck Jonathan. It didn’t take long for him to become known as a stylish man.
Swanky Jerry established his fashion and lifestyle brand in 2012, Swanky Signatures Styling. Over the years, the company has grown to become one of the most popular and influential brands in the Nigerian entertainment industry and across Africa.
Swanky Jerry won the Fashion Designer of the Year award at the Lagos Fashion Awards in 2014. In 2020, he appeared on Forbes Africa’s annual “30 Under 30” list, featuring 30 young entrepreneurs, leaders, and change agents from across Africa.
Swanky Jerry is arguably one of Nigeria’s most influential celebrity stylists. He has worked with some of the biggest names in entertainment and has won numerous awards and recognition. For 2020, he bought a personal Range Rover autobiography.
