Late Deji Tinubu is one name football lovers in Lagos state and civil servants in the state, will not forget so soon despite the fact that he will be laid six feet below the earth soon.

Tinubu had slumped while playing a novelty football match with his colleagues, Lagos state executive council and permanent secretaries on Thursday night at Jubilee Chalet, Epe, Lagos.

But would never knew he was playing his last match after the slump led to his death.

1. He appears to be the fittest even before the match started.

According to TheCable’s report, a commissioner said: “He was arguably the fittest in the cabinet. He always played the central role in sports activities organised for the exco — he would get us boots, jerseys and such stuff.

Infact Dr Idris was said to have been part of the team that rushed to his rescue to administer first aid to him, but He didn’t make it.

3. Prior to his appointment with Lagos state government, Deji Tinubu used to be a veteran sport Journalist.

4. Late Kafaru Tinubu, a police officer, is Deji Tinubu’s father .

5. Tinubu played a very pivotal role in the history of sport in Lagos and at the national level. In Lagos he helped actualize the hosting of the 2nd CAF Beach Soccer Cup of Nations in the state in December 2016.

He had also been in the forefront of other projects in which Lagos state was partnering the NFF before he was posted from sports to commerce, industry and cooperatives on January 19, 2018.
