My Best Friend Wants to Take My Sister’s Husband. What Should I Do?
Wonders, my people say, will never end. This is the cause of this young lady whose best friend is dating her sister’s husband.
Kindly read her story and advise her at the end.
Dear Naijapary,
I will like my story to be published on your site. I am a 300L student of Accountancy at one of the Universities in SouthWest of Nigeria (name withheld).
Right now, everything seems to be a dream to me. In fact, I am still in a great shock.
There is this my friend called Lilian. Lilian and I got to know ourselves right from 100L as we both shared the same room. We like each other, in fact, Lilian is my best friend.
Apart from being just a friend, she is my helper. I can’t count the number of times she paid my tuition fees not to talk about handouts and other things.
My sister, on the other hand, is a very caring sister and we are just two in our mother’s hand. We lost our dad at a very tender age.
My sister is happily married with two kids and they live in another state from the state where I am studying.
Last week as I was cleaning the room, a picture fell from Lilian’s handout and on picking it up what I saw was a great surprise.
It was my sister’s husband’s photo with a nice pose beside my best friend. I quickly kept the picture.
When Lilian arrived, I pretended as if nothing is happening. But I was silently praying ‘God don’t let it be what I am thinking’.
I later showed the picture to my friend and asked who the man is to her, her reply was the most shocking statement I’ve ever heard, as she replied with “That’s my sweetheart”. I pretended as if I didn’t hear her very well and she repeated the same statement.
I asked her if the man is still single and she said ‘No’ that he is married and have two children. She further stated that my sister’s husband had promised to marry her and she has agreed to be his second wife.
Though I did not tell her anything, I’m yet to get myself as I don’t know what to do. Please advise on what to do.
Thanks.
Romoke, Osun State.
