Northern City News learnt on Thursday that the Tiv woman lost the pregnancy due to excessive bleeding.
She was reportedly rushed to the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia , where the stillborn baby was removed through surgery .
In spite of the loss of her baby , Julius was slammed a N 100, 000 bill by the hospital .
Narrating her ordeal to our correspondent at the IDPs camp, Julius attributed her loss to hardship and trauma resulting from the killings by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen .
“ I am living together with my husband here , I was pregnant and it was time for me to give birth but I couldn ’ t and I didn ’ t know what the problem was . But when it was exactly 12 months , I began to bleed regularly.
“ Then I told him to take me to the hospital but the doctor said the child had died . I didn ’ t know what happened afterwards because I was unconscious when they took me to the hospital ; I heard the story after I was revived .
“ Now , they said I should pay and I don’ t have money. All the money we came with is exhausted . We paid N 40, 000 and we are expected to pay N 60, 000 balance because the total bill for the surgery is N 100, 000. Now we don ’ t have , but we pleaded with the management to allow us pay in installments, ” she told our correspondent.
