The palace of Salu of Edunabon in Ife North Local Government area of Osun State has been set ablaze by some suspected youths during a fracas.
Vehicles transiting through the community and Osogbo the state capital could not move, leaving commuters stranded for many hours.
However, the intervention of the police who came in armoured personnel restored normalcy to the area.
As at the time of filling this report, witness confirmed to NAIJAPARRY correspondent that four persons were identified to be seriously wounded.
From investigation, the crisis started on the 14th of this month, when two candidates allegedly entered seclusion to perform traditional rites, as the validly nominated occupant to the throne as Salu of Edunabon.
One of the Princes was allegedly endorsed by the state government, while the other was reportedly authorized by the Ooni of Ife.
As the one who first went into seclusion reportedly concluded the process and danced to the palace, supporters of the rival candidate resisted them, thereby, leading to the burning of the palace and bloodshed.
