Court Jails Man In Osun For Using Master Key To Burgle Vehicles
An Osun State Magistrate Court sitting in Ile Ife on Thursday sentenced a Twenty-one-year-old Joseph Oga, who is renowned to be a specialist in opening vehicles with a master key to five years in jail.
The police prosecutor, Sunday Osanyintuyi, had earlier told the court that Oga illegally opened many vehicles and stole items from them before being caught.
The Prosecutor said the convict, on June 17, 2020, at Ibukun-Olu Street, Ile-Ife, opened a Honda Accord saloon car belonging to one Adegboyega Ologbenla and stole a bag containing the sum of N208,100.
He disclosed that the convict also stole two itel mobile phones and a power bank, all valued at N223,100 from the vehicle.
The prosecutor also stated that Oga had on June 18, 2020, on Ajegunle Street, Ile-Ife, sneaked into a Nissan bus belonging to one David Olanrewaju with the intent to commit felony.
According to him, he said the offences were said to contravene sections 383, 390(9), 412 and 508 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
When the count charges were read to the convict, he pleaded guilty to the charges and begged for leniency.
He told the court that he had a master key that could open many vehicles.
While ruling, the presiding magistrate, Muhibah Olatunji, found Oga guilty of stealing and illegal entrance.
He however convicted him and sentenced him to five years’ imprisonment without an option of fine.
