NAIJAPARY team, our correspondent came across a man who has refused to leave the city of Ibadan even after he has completed his National Youth Service several months ago. The Ex-Corp member highlighted some interesting reasons he chose to stay back in the ancient city.
The Ex-Corp member who finished his service in the year 2017 said he had stayed all his life in Lagos, and so, it is easier for him to see the differences between making a living in Lagos and Ibadan.
Here are some of his major reasons:
• Hustling and Bustling: Working in Lagos is totally different from working in Ibadan because of the hustling and bustling. Lagos is considered to be very rowdy compared to Ibadan which is quiet and peaceful.
• Time: One of the major reasons so many people would prefer working in Ibadan is the time they have to themselves. So many people wake up early in Lagos but still get to the office late.
• Traffic: It is commonly known that the traffic in Lagos is very hectic. Heavy traffic is one of the reasons most people wake up so early in Lagos and still get home very late.
Though there is also traffic in Ibadan, it cannot be compared to that of Lagos and this is why so many enjoy good time management between work and other things in the city.
• Cost of Living: Living in Ibadan is very economical than living in Lagos, from the cost of transportation to buying food and foodstuffs and getting other essentials.
A person living in Lagos and a person living in Ibadan collecting the same salary cannot be compared to each other because the one in Ibadan will spend less and save more.
