Young Man Exposes Fake EFCC Official Who Contacted Him to Ask for Share of Yahoo Money

A young Nigerian man has exposed a fake operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, who tried to extort him under false pretense.

He received a call from a fraudster that posed as an EFCC official and asked him to share proceeds of alleged cyberfraud with them.

The fake official said he was calling from the EFCC office in Benin, Edo state, and their investigation led to them to him.

The scammer said they are aware that he has gotten a client and all they wanted was their share of the money so that they would leave him alone.

When the man asked how much he wants, the fake anti-graft operative said that it depends on the amount their purported suspect wants to collect.

The receiver of the call played along and said he was thinking of collecting N12 million, in response, the scammer said their share would be N500,000.
