Why Super Eagles Must Qualify For 2026 World Cup – Chidozie Awaziem

Chidozie Awaziem says the Super Eagles are desperate to make a return to the World Cup after missing out on the last time in Qatar 2022.

The Super Eagles were denied a place at the last mundial by perennial rivals, Ghana.

The Boavista of Portugal defender claimed they wanted to secure a place in the tournament this time around.

“We all want to go to the World Cup, it’s our dream, Nigerians want to see us there and we are working towards qualifying as well.

“We will work hard to get maximum points in these two games (against Lesotho and Zimbabwe) and then focus on the other games. All the boys are battle-ready and focus on the task ahead.”

Jose Peseiro’s side will begin their quest for a place in the 2026 World Cup finals with a home fixture against Lesotho on Thursday.
