Over the weekend, the late actor’s buddy and Mad Max co-star Paul ‘Cundalini’ Johnstone confirmed his passing on Facebook and posted a recent photo of the two actors posing together.

“Unfortunately, Vince Gil has passed away.

He’s been extremely weak for a while, and thankfully he’s no longer confined by his mortal form.”

Paul continued by recalling one of his favorite moments with his deceased friend, which occurred in 2015 while they were on a tour of Japan.

Paul said, “We need not have been worried.
“Vince was remarkable – he rose to the occasion every time, fed off the energy of the wonderful Japanese fans, and on the occasions when I’d glance at him and be worried about his ability to keep going, he’d shrug any concerns and show that he had a lot more stamina than many of us much younger men,” said one of the other players.

Paul concluded his touching tribute to his late friend with a reference to a scene from his biggest movie, Mad Max.

“Rest well old friend – we will remember you when we look at the night sky,” he wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
