The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says 5,000 applicants have been confirmed successful to proceed to the final stage of recruitment into the Corps.

This was made known in a statement on Thursday by the Secretary, Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Mrs Aisha Rufai.

According to her, the successful candidates are from those who applied for recruitment into the NSCDC in 2019 and have gone through the required processes.

Rufai stated further that the candidates are to log in to the portal at http://cdfipb.careers from January 17, 2022, for further updates on the next line of action.

She added that successful candidates are to print their slips which will be used for documentation expected to commence on January 31.

“Applicants should check for their names, documentation location, guidelines for documentation, and print out their invitation slip without which they will not be allowed to participate in the exercise,” she said.

According to her, the portal will not be open to candidates who have not been successfully shortlisted.

Speaking further on the recruitment exercise, the NSCDC Commandant General, Mr Ahmed Audi said applications were received from 1,477,042 candidates which were pruned through different processes and criteria before the 5,000 emerged.

He added that the COVID-19 break out further delayed the process.

“A total of 217, 000 candidates successfully uploaded their certificates and were shortlisted for the Computer Based Assessment Test (CBAT).

“Out of 113,105 candidates shortlisted, 53,116 sat for the CBAT in December 2020, across the country, and 6,500 were shortlisted for further screening,” he explained.

“Recruitment is a process and it is not easy to vet about 1,000,000 people as vetting is very fundamental and takes a longer time,’’ he added.
