BBMzansi Contestant Themba Sets Up GoFundMe After His Loss
Losing Big Brother Mzansi contestant Themba Mabaso has listened to pleas by his fans to start a GoFundMe page to help him jump-start his career and business.
Themba shook off competition and stormed into the top 3 of Big Brother Mzansi. He came out third while Gash 1 was second and Mphowabadimo scooped the R2 million grand prize.
His social media team posted on his account: “As requested by Ghostnation, we opened go fund me account for Themba. It’s in his name so his identity document and personal banking details will be needed to withdraw the funds. PayPal account will be linked to the go fund me soon.”

The campaign is aiming to raise R2 million, and by 7 April at 11:26, R84,250 had been raised for Themba.
“At first, I was not aware that it was happening when I didn’t have my phone, but now I know that it’s happening and who is running the page for me so people can send money there. I didn’t want to involve myself in asking for money from people because they had already given me love but they are doing it out of their hearts. I was not prepared for this kind of hype,” he told TshisaLIVE.
On Big Brother, Themba said joining the competition had brought him hope as he had struggled to establish his music career and his tattoo parlour, called Rough Ink in Johannesburg, had been razed down by a fire.
Themba said he wanted to build a new tattoo store and pursue music, modelling and art once he gets the money from the GoFundMe page.
“I’m going to continue doing art, the tattoo shop where I’m operating and hope to build a bigger shop, while modelling, and releasing music. I’m all about art, so everything that has to do with art I’m going to do.”
