Tinubu: No Attack On Buhari’s Helicopter, It’s Imaginary

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), has dismissed reports that miscreants attacked President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Kano state.

A video which circulated on monday captured angry Kano youths hurling stones at a helicopter and cars said to be part of the convoy of the President.

The residents were chanting “ba mu so” (we don’t want) while burning objects on Hotoro road where the president had left after commissioning the Muhammadu Buhari Interchange.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had released a statement saying Nigerians have rejected Tinubu and Buhari which is why the presidential convoy was pelted with objects in Kano.

In reaction, Tinubu said Buhari was warmly received in Kano, contrary to widespread reports and the purported attack video clip.

In a statement by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, the former Lagos state governor described the alleged attack as ‘fake news’ from PDP.

He said the attack on Buhari must have happened only in the mind of PDP’s spokesperson.

The statement reads partly: “We are not surprised to read of the imaginary attack on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria being peddled by the PDP since the party has nothing tangible to tell Nigerians from its crumbling presidential campaign.
