African Games 2023: Top 8 Countries Leading Medal Ranking Table

Amid the ongoing All African Games taking place in Ghana, Egypt and Nigeria are the countries currently topping the medal ranking table.

As of Tuesday morning, Egypt currently tops the medal standings through their impressive performances across various events, notably table tennis, wrestling, and swimming.

They clinched top honours in both the men’s and women’s categories, catapulting them to the forefront of the medal table.

The North Africans maintain the number one position with a total of 84 medals (47 golds, 19 silvers and 18 bronzes) so far.

Behind Egypt is Nigeria, which is in second place with 41 medals (16 golds, 10 silvers, and 15 bronzes).

The likes of Algeria (15 golds, 20 silvers and 20 bronzes), South Africa (12 golds, 15 silvers and 22 bronzes), Mauritius (3 golds, 3 silvers and 1 bronze), Madagascar, Tunisia, Morocco, Uganda and Ghana complete the top 10.

Others in the list from 11th position to 20th position are Namibia, Zimbabwe, Libya, Senegal, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Angola, Republic of the Congo, The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Burkina Faso.
