AFCON All You Need To Know

The Africa Cup of Nations is one of the greatest spectacles in African football. So far, the tournament has started with spectacular highlights, with nations putting their best foot forward to stay in the competition.

However, it was cut short due to weather issues and had to be postponed to this year. This article will inform you about the upcoming matches, among other factors. Let’s get into it.

Groups Playing

The contest features 24 teams divided into six groups, each with four teams. Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau feature in Group A. Battling it out in Group B is  Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

Group C features several giants, including Senegal, Cameroon, Guinea, and The Gambia. The contest continues in Group D, with Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, and Angola competing for the top spot.

Tunisia, Mali, South Africa, and Namibia take part in Group E. Morocco, DR Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania go toe to toe for the last group.  You may wonder which teams will make it to the round of 16.

The best two teams under each category and the four best-ranked third-placed teams are the ones that will advance.
