Nigerian On-Air-Personality, Nnamdi Nwabasili, popularly known as N6, has recounted how he embarrassed himself at a Muslim wedding (Nikkah).
He said that he was hired to work as the Master of Ceremony at the wedding of a wealthy Muslim couple a few years ago, but he made a religious blunder.
N6 said the Chief Imam asked everyone to pray before commencement of the occasion, and the men stood up still wearing their cap.
However the media personality who most likely forgot that it was an Islamic gathering and not a Christian one, asked them to take off their hat.
According to him, the Imam had to step in and correct him by explaining that the men are allowed to keep their caps on while praying.
N6, who is a vocal socio-political commentator, referred to the incident as one of his most embarrassing thing he’s done in life.
He wrote; “Few Yrs Ago. I was MCing a wedding of a wealthy Muslim couple. A Chief Imam was asked To Pray. All the Men stood up to pray all wearing their Hats. I announced that they should please remove their Caps. The Imam explained to me that Muslim Men can pray with their Hats On.”
