It would be recalled that payment of MAPSU dues was released on Monday in a press release signed by the president which claimed that all full time students of the institution must pay N1100, N700 for the dues, N200 for alert fee and N200 for insurance fee.

Owoiya also claimed he did not want to collect any dues from the students that the money left by previous administration will be enough to implement all his promises, but the management insisted he must generate funds before touching the money in the account.

“There is more than thousands things you(students) don’t know, we met some funds on ground and we have the intention that no students will pay dues, if we want to collect this dues it should have started immediately we were inaugurated and am very sure everybody will pay.”

“We requested the management release the money left in the account by past administrations that we want to do something the students will see. But, they replied with a word “go and generate your own revenue before you touch the left over money.”

“Let me tell you categorically We decided to paste the SUG fee on Monday after we had meeting with SSC the management representatives, we told them we don’t want our students to pay, let us use the fund in the account, it is enough for us to do whatever we want to do. But, we are been told ‘go and generate your own revenue before you touch any dime.”
