The Supporters’ Club made a firm commitment to stand by the Solid Miners, and support them in their quest to secure a return to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The ceremony, which was held at the Lafia City Stadium on Friday evening, had the Chairman of the Supporters’ Club, Ali Jibrin, also known as “Baggio,” along with his Executive Members, formally welcomed the Chairman of Nasarawa United FC, Dr. Othman Ibrahim Ahmed, into their ranks, presenting him with a membership replica jersey, as a mark of their allegiance to the Club.
Jibrin stated that the Supporters’ Club would adopt a fresh approach, introducing various innovations and programs aimed at bolstering the team’s physical, psychological, and mental well-being. Their intention is to boost the morale of the players and help propel them back into the Premier League
Othman, the head of Nasarawa United, expressed his gratitude for the warm gesture from the Supporters’ Club, stating the significance of such an act, saying that it is a sign of good things to come.
“This is quite significant. For supporters to come out and induct you into their fold, saying you are one of them, I think it’s a sign of good things to come.”
Othman explained that the Supporters’ Club is a pivotal and integral part of a team’s success.
“The Supporters’ Club is a major anchor to the success of any sporting outfit. And ours are no exception.
“You enjoy a home match because of the presence of the supporters. With what they have done today, it’s going to be a flourishing environment once the Season begins,” he said.
