Mohbad Case Update: Court Sends Singer’s Friend, Auxiliary Nurse Back to Police Custody, Declines Bail Request

As late singer, Mohbad‘s case lingers, a Lagos State Court in Yaba has sent his friend and auxiliary nurse back to police custody.

On Monday, November 6, 2023, a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Yaba returned to custody a 37-year-old auxiliary nurse, Fisayo Ogedengbe, and a friend of Mohbad’s, Ayobani Sadiq, who were arrested by the police in connection with the controversial death of Nigerian artiste, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad.

The suspects could interfere with the investigation if they were released, the court reasoned, declining to give them bail. The case was still being investigated.

The late artist allegedly died as a result of the nurse’s injections.

Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun also ruled that Mohbad’s friend Ayobani Sadiq, who is also being held as a suspect in the case, must go back to police custody.

The magistrate did, however, grant N20 million in bail to Mohbad’s ex-boss, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, and Lagos socialite Balogun Eletu, better known as Sam Larry, who was also accused with Mohbad’s murder and taken into police custody on October 6.

Olatunbosun rescheduled the case until November 29 in order to consult with the DPP, as the police claim that the investigation into the crime is still ongoing.
