Porter and teammate Christian Wood got into a verbal argument with Rockets assistant coach John Lucas during halftime of a 111-124 loss to the Denver Nuggets on January 1, 2022.

Porter then hurled something into the locker room before leaving the Toyota Center, where the Rockets were playing.

Porter and Wood were both given one-game suspensions for their actions, according to Rockets head coach Stephen Silas, who made the announcement on January 3.
