Babangida Bangis, a close colleague of Bono, confirmed the news, stating that the actor “collapsed” and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Bangis expressed his shock and disbelief, revealing that he had spoken to Bono earlier in the day and had no indication of any health issues.
“He was not sick. In fact, we were supposed to meet earlier today,” Bangis recounted. “After we spoke on the phone, I was later told that he collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. He was confirmed dead by doctors at the hospital.”
Bono’s contributions to Kannywood are immense, with a remarkable body of work spanning numerous films.
