Joe Pavelski whose full name is Joseph James Pavelski was born on July 11, 1984, in Plover, Wisconsin. He began his journey in ice hockey at an early age. His passion for the sport manifested in notable achievements during his amateur career, where he played a pivotal role in securing the Wisconsin State Hockey Championship with the SPASH (Stevens Point Area Senior High) Panthers in 2002.

Pavelski began his NHL career in the year of 2006. He became a regular player on the Sharks roster and one of the most consistent young players during the 2007-08 seasons.On 19 March 2011, he came to stop scoring his first NHL hat-trick against the St Louis Blues. After, he started with the Belarusian team Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League during the 2012-13 NHL season. The Sharks proclaimed that the club had started Pavelski to a five-year contract on 30 July 2013.Pavelski scored his 300th NHL goal on a pass from Joe Thornton against the Florida Panthers on 1 December 2017.
