How Did Gloucester Teacher Jane Steele Die?

According to the school, Mrs. Steele was a selfless lady who devoted her life to helping others. Claire Giblin, the head of Denmark Road High School in Gloucester, paid tribute to Mrs. Steele on the institution’s Facebook page.

Claire referred to Mrs. Steele, a previous headteacher at Newent Community School, and claimed that the world is a lesser place without her. Near the end of the summer break, Mrs. Steele passed away suddenly.
Jane Steel’s husband Andy and Eleanor, Jane’s daughter, told the alumni this heartbreaking news.

Jane’s family said that “She was the best of us – a brilliant mother, an incredible wife, a fabulous friend, and a valued colleague. Everything she did was selfless. She lived to be there for other people.”

Jane Steele died suddenly during the summer holidays. Jane’s cause of death was not clear yet.

Andy, Jane’s husband, and Eleanor, her daughter, have asked we share with our wider community and alumni some devastating news. Jane Steele, our deputy headteacher, died suddenly on Saturday 27th August. Our thoughts are with her family who is understandably finding it difficult to make any sense of their loss.
Jane was pure Denmark Road. A teacher, leader, esteemed colleague, and trusted friend. Our world is a poorer place without Jane to share it with.

As a community we are supporting each other, putting the needs and wishes of Andy and Eleanor at the fore. While the grieving is immense, it is nothing compared to the joy that Jane brought. In Andy and Eleanor’s words: She was the best of us – a brilliant mother, an incredible wife, a fabulous friend, and a valued colleague. Everything she did was selfless. She lived to be there for other people.

Jane’s funeral will be held on Friday 30th September at Christ Church, Cheltenham. The service will begin at 11am and all who wish to pay their respects are invited to attend.
