JAMB Reveals What Is Being Done As Candidates Struggle To Check 2019 UTME Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says GSM network providers are looking into ‘technical hitches’ preventing some candidates from checking their 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.

NAIJAPARRY understands that many candidates have not been able to assess their results since the examination body announced the release of 1,792,719 results on Saturday.

JAMB had directed candidates to send RESULT as an SMS to 55019 using the same number that was used for registration.

JAMB said it simplified the way to check results for the 2019 examination to avoid extortion of candidates.

“The Board has noticed that candidates are having difficulties assessing their results especially with some networks. The network providers are looking into these technical hitches and have assured that normalcy would be restored soon,” the examination body tweeted on Monday.

More than 1.8 million candidates sat for the 2019 UTME from April 11 to April 18.

Registrar of JAMB Professor Is-haq Oloyede said that due to various infractions the board withheld the results of 34,120 candidates.
