Is Sex Allowed During Fasting ?

Sex during fasting periods has been causing a lot of issues between couples as it is mostly believed that most religions don’t support it.

It is true that most religions don’t support sex during fasting but there are ways couples can go about it when the period of fasting is for a long time like a month or two months and above.

I was in a meeting of female ministers and a respected woman of God gave a solution to this controversial issue.
She said couples can have sex after breaking their fast. It was stated this way: If a couple is to break their fast by 6 pm, they can have sex between that hour (6 pm) until 11: 59 pm before the following day’s fasting begins.

I am writing this based on the Christian ’s perspective where fasting starts at 12 am and ends at 6 pm in most denominations.

Couples should know that sex in marriage must be done with mutual understanding with a person not denying the partner what he or she desires.

It is important for husband and wife to sit down and discuss how they will go through a period of fasting and how sex will come in so as not to create space for infidelity.
