In Osun, 20-Year-Old Man Lands In Trouble For Stealing Policeman’s Motorcycle At Barrack

The Osun State Police on Monday dragged a 20-year-old man, Mumini Huseeni, to appear before an Osun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo for allegedly stealing a motorcycle belonging to a police sergeant.

The police prosecutor, Kayode Adepoju, told the court that the defendant stole a Jincheng motorcycle on July 2, 2020, inside the barracks.

He disclosed that the motorcycle the defendant stole is valued at N100,000 and belongs to one Sergeant Ashiru Idris.

The offence was said to be contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9)(10A) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. ll, Law of Osun State, 2002.

When the count charges were read to the defendant, Huseeni admitted stealing the motorcycle and begged for leniency.

The defendant had no legal representation and pleaded guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor sought an adjournment for the presentation of facts.

The presiding magistrate, Modupe Awodele, ordered Huseeni to be remanded in the Ilesha Correctional Centre.

He, however, adjourned the matter till July 27, 2020, for hearing.
