When Adebayo was seven years old, his mother and he relocated to North Carolina. He was a junior at Pinetown, North Carolina's Northside High School, where he averaged 32.2 points and 21 rebounds per game.

With a 53-29 record and a return trip to the Conference Finals, where they once more squared off against the Boston Celtics, Adebayo assisted the Heat in securing the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Adebayo defeated the Boston Celtics 109-103 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 21, 2022. He finished with 31 points on 15 of 22 field goal attempts, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals.

On November 25, 2022, Adebayo defeated the Washington Wizards 110-107 while tallying a season-high 38 points and 12 rebounds. Adebayo was selected for his second NBA All-Star Game on February 2, 2023.
