Svenja Huth Career

At the age of seven, Huth began playing football at TSG Kälberau. At the age of fourteen, he made his way to the 1. FFC Frankfurt youth department via FC Bayern Alzenau, an intermediary station.

She received a promotion to the Bundesliga team for the 2007–08 campaign. On December 2, 2007, she made her Bundesliga debut, substituting for the injured Kerstin Garefrekes in the 46th minute.

By the end of her rookie campaign, she had won her maiden Bundesliga title. On May 10, 2009, the 20th matchday, she scored her first two goals in the Bundesliga in a 5-1 victory over TSV Crailsheim away.

On November 25, 2007, she made her DFB Cup debut, shooting 1. FFC Frankfurt passed Tennis Borussia Berlin into the quarterfinals with a goal in the 43rd minute to make it 1-0. After defeating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1, Frankfurt won the UEFA Women’s Champions League in 2015.

From 2015 to 2019, Huth was a player for Turbine Potsdam, a German team. Huth relocated to VfL Wolfsburg in 2019. She and Wolfsburg won the DFB Cup and the German Championship in 2020.

The cup was successfully defended in 2021 against Eintracht Frankfurt, winning 1-0 in overtime. She renewed her contract through 2024 in June of 2021.

All four of the tournament games included her. She was in the DFB squad for the 2013 European Championship in Sweden, however she did not play. She competed for Germany in the Summer Olympics of 2016, winning the gold medal.

Federal President Gauck awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf to each player on November 1, 2016. Huth participated in all four games in the 2017 European Championship in the Netherlands until the German team was ousted in the quarterfinals against Denmark.

On September 16, 2017, she scored her first goal for her senior national team in a 6-0 victory against Slovenia in a 2019 World Cup qualifying match. Her goal came in the 14th minute of play. She and the national team advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup finals.

National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg brought her up to the squad for the 2022 European Championship in England.

The German team advanced to the final, where they came in second place after losing to England. All six games included Huth. She declared her retirement from international football in March 2024.
