FPE SU ELECTION: ISEC Conducted Free And Fair In-house Election

Considering the relevance of student unionism to the growth of any academic institution, the Independent Students Electoral Commission seating in Federal Polytechnic Ede on 19th of July 2018 conducted a free and fair in house Election for all principal post at both the SURC and SUJC of the student’s Union.

As the new jurists and honourables of the FPE SURC has gone to the poll to elect new principal officers at the SURC and SUJC of the Student Union Government of the institution.

The election which was held at celebrated ETF hall of the Polytechnic trailed excitements and expectations over the conduct of the election which saw Abdulrahmon Ridwan Opeyemi from Quantity Survey emerged as the Chief Justice with 18 votes and 3 void, Oyetunji Musibau Rabiu from Computer Engineering emerged as Chief Registrar with a total vote of 17 votes and 4 void, while Adegoke Sodiq Aderemi from SLT microbiology options also emerged as the Chief Prosecuting officer with 20 votes and a void.

In other elections conducted,at the SURC level Adeniyi Olusola Emmanuel from SLT chemistry options Constituency emerged the house speaker with 40 votes, Ogunse Yemi Augustine from Mechanical Engineering emerged the deputy speaker with 27 votes, Olawande Samson Olawale from Statistics Constituency emerged the Chief whip with 37 votes while Ajiboye Waliyullahi from Architectural Technology Constituency emerged the Clerk of the House with 27 votes .

Following the announcement of the results, NAIJAPARY gathered that some students who could not hide their feelings expressed their excitement, reactions to the conduct of the election. An observer who sought for anonymity told NAIJAPARY Reporter G.song that the election went on a smooth ride as he had not observed any misconduct during the Election.

In another development, the screening for the SUEC will hold tommorow 20th of July, 2018,as was contained in the press release of the Electoral Body today.
