[JUST IN] Covid-19: Fed Poly Ede Announces Partial Resumption for Selected Officers

In compliance with the FG Order contained in a speech read by President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday on the gradual relaxation of lockdown amid Covid-19 outbreak in the country and a further directive given by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Yemi-Esan, the Management of Federal Polytechnic Ede has announced partial resumption of workers.

The FG directive accentuated that governmental offices should open for work trice a week; Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and close at 2pm on each day with effect Monday.

Significantly, this partial resumption is only applicable to workers on Grade Level 14 and above as well as those on essential services.

During the week, the Management of Federal Polytechnic Ede reviewed the directive of the Federal government and concededly admit to the FG order.

The development was revealed in a memorandum released by the school on 1st of May signed by the School Registrar, Alhaji Agboola Isiaka Tunji.

‘Officers on CONTEDISS 12, CONPCASS 6 and COHESS 12 and above and those on essential services are hereby directed to resume work with effect from Monday, 4th May, 2020 in the first instance. Offices are to open three times a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday (due to planned total lockdown in Osun state on Fridays) and close at 2:00 pm on each day.

Vehemently, resuming officers were adjured to comply fully with the directives and advice on the COVID-19 pandemic preventive measures including maintenance of social distancing, regular hand-washing and sanitization and wearing of face masks.

Insistently, the Management enjoined officers to limit the number of visitors they will receive to the barest minimum adding that visitors should also comply with safety and health directives.

Meanwhile, the Management promised to adhere to provisions and guidelines of COVID-19 pandemic preventive measures as directed by the Head of Service of the Federation.

However, it is vividly comprehensible that students are not ordered to resume to school yet. Let us not harness this news as an avenue to disperse resumption rumour.
