What is FSWP Program?
This program is introduced for skilled workers who have foreign work experience and want to immigrate to Canada permanently. This program includes various eligibility checks like work experience, language ability and academics. It is significant to meet a minimum requirement to be eligible to immigrate to Canada under this program. This program allows the permanent residence for the candidate selected through the express entry profile.
For the first time since December 2020, Canada has invited Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP) candidates.
Candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) were also included in today’s Express Entry draw. CEC candidates have been included in an Express Entry draw for the first time since September 2021.
A total of 1,500 Express Entry candidates were invited to apply for permanent residency by Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The cut-off score for the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) was 557.
In a written statement to CIC News, Canada’s Immigration Minister Sean Fraser said:
“Today, I am pleased to announce that Express Entry draws have officially resumed and applications will be processed at our 6 month processing standard. I want to thank the candidates from around the world for their patience, as we worked to reduce the backlog before resuming Express Entry draws. I look forward to welcoming skilled workers who will are essential in addressing Canada’s labour shortages.”
Eligibility criterion for Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program
For any candidate to be eligible to apply for PR Visa through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, they are required to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Work Experience: Candidate must have a minimum of one year of regular full-time work experience in the past ten years in a skilled occupation that is categorized under NOC skill type 0, A or B
- Language Proficiency: Under this factor, the candidate must get a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or IELTS score of 6 per band in each ability (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening)
- Education: Candidate has to complete at least education that is equivalent to a Canadian high school diploma. For the education that is pursued outside of Canada, an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) is required.
- Settlement Funds: Candidates are also required to show proof of funds to demonstrate that candidate have enough funds to support themselves for the move to Canada
The candidate also required scoring a minimum of 67 points in the FSWP point grid.
Canada Express Entry Login
Express Entry has two Steps
Step 1
Candidates need to confirm they meet the criteria of at least one of the three Express Entry programs.
Step 2
If they meet the criteria, candidates can upload their Express Entry profile onto IRCC’s website. Candidates receive a Comprehensive Ranking System score based on their human capital characteristics such as age, education, language skills, and work experience. Approximately every two weeks, IRCC invites the highest-scoring candidates to apply for permanent residence.
