“Yoruba is so important to me” – Asake explains why he sings in Yoruba (video)

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Ahmed Ololade, also known as Asake has outlined the significance of the Yoruba language in his music.

He claimed that he enjoys singing in Yoruba since it is widely spoken and understood and because it is essential to him.

Asake stated during a NewsLive Prime interview that he views music as a feeling and that sometimes one does not need to comprehend it to enjoy its use on a smartphone.

In his words;

“Yoruba is so important to me. To me the way I understand music is that it is a feeling”, he said.

In related news, Nigerian musician, Florence Otedola popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has shared the future plans she has for her music career.

Cuppy expressed her desire to become a backup singer for her colleague, Asake.

Taking to her Instagram story, she enquired about the process of becoming one of Asake’s backup singers and asked her followers to provide her with information on how to achieve her goal.
