EPL: Your Career at Stamford Bridge Over – Jamie Carragher Warns Chelsea Star

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said Thiago Silva’s days at Chelsea are numbered.

Silva was missing as the Blues held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw on Saturday.

The Brazilian picked up an injury during the 3-1 victory at Crystal Palace on Monday.

Mauricio Pochettino started Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill against City at the Etihad.

And the duo helped the Blues earn a point against Pep Guardiola’s men.

Carragher was especially full of praise for Disasi and compared him with the club’s former skipper, John Terry.

Silva has not looked fully fit this season and Carragher believes his time is now up.

He told Sky Sports: “Last couple of big away games going back to Aston Villa in the [FA] Cup and here today when Thiago Silva has not been involved.

“He’s been brilliant for Chelsea since he’s come in. But I think with his age, his contract’s up at the end of the season and when you see those two players [Disasi and Colwill] in together…

“I think it makes it very difficult for Thiago Silva to come back into the team between now and the end of the season – unless someone gets injured.

“I think looking at those two in a partnership and maybe another young centre-back in the squad, the days of Thiago Silva playing at Chelsea have got to come to an end.”
