EPL: FFP Restricts Man United’s Transfer Deals

Manchester United have warned supporters not to expect a busy transfer window in January, because Financial Fair Play rules (FFP) have “real teeth.”

The club’s Chief Operating Officer, Collette Roche, revealed this while speaking at a fans’ forum on Tuesday.

Roche said the Premier LEague would have to be “really disciplined” when it comes to spending money in the future.

“We are not expecting it [the January transfer window] to be particularly busy.

“We have seen this season that Financial Fair Play rules have real teeth, so we have to be very careful to ensure we remain compliant, and we will.

“That means being really disciplined on spending going forward, with a balance between incomings and outgoings,” Roche said.

United have endured a poor start to the current campaign and currently sit in sixth position on the Premier League table.

Erik ten Hag’s men have already been eliminated from European competitions altogether, losing some revenue in the process.

However, Ten Hag is look to add to his squad when the winter window opens.
