EDE POLY CRISIS: Former SUG President Reacts, Reveals ASUP Plans
Former SUG president, Comr. Lukman Rufai popularly called SIWES took to his social media (WhatsApp) status to show his concern for Fed Poly Ede students who have been delayed unnecessarily in school due to the rift going on between the ASUP and the rector of the Polytechnic.
Also, he advised the student Union on the possible way out .
In his own words he said:
“There will be a show of shame (protest) possibly this morning or Monday by ASUP which may likely force the federal government to close down the school or Something worse. Note When there is contamination of peace in any school and incessant protest within. It might likely forced the federal government to shutdown the school or remove the head. That’s ASUP plan.
I wish I can speak with the reasonable ones among the staffs but the list with me here Majority of wicked ones (conspirators) supersede the God fearing once. So, the voice of the minority might not be heard. My sympathy goes to the innocent students that will suffer most for this selfish crisis. The students leaders and courageous students was expected to presernt at the point of the round table dialogue with federal government Committee to discuss bitterly and criticallyy explain to them on how the crisis is drastically afecting students and the same tine give the committee, Rector and ASUP an ultimatum to settle the rift between them or else the community will witness the wrath of the largest and strongest stakeholders (students) of the polytechnic community. This thing is getting out of hand.
Yesterday night, acclaimed some literate ASUP removed the Rector’s Tyre, blocked the school gate to restrict the committee from going out and ground rector down in school because they are all expecting the Committee to immediately remove the Rector but not. The leadership of the students should set up a Committee that will look into the crisis, meet the concerned and as well report to the federal government with a direction of who is destabilising their peaceful academic environment. This can help a bit.
Today, If you meet my ASUP Chairman today he will feed fat you with wrong information in a well polite and articulate manner but if you go further to kow the nitty gritty of what he told you, you will be disappointed, perplexed and address yourself as a fool because my Chairman is outspoken, smart and constructive. Live of a comrade.
The leadership of the students union can equally write the Ministry of Education, call upon president Muhammed Buhari and as well bombard Twitter so that their voice can be heard. Why only ASUP every time, their entitlement has been paid with many other bonuses, just because you hate someone you are using that to affect the future of many.
