Eating Fufu Is My Speed’s Secret — Karim Adeyemi Reveals Following Chelsea Win (Video)

Karim Adeyemi, a Nigerian player for Borussia Dortmund attributes his speed to consuming an African dish, fufu, post-Chelsea game.

Adeyemi scored the only goal for his team during their Champions League round of 16 first-leg match against Chelsea on Wednesday.

The Nigerian’s goal came during a period of sustained dominance from the visitors early in the second half, with the German forward pouncing on a clearance from a Chelsea corner.

In a post-game interview with CBS Sport’s Golazo at the Signal Iduma Park, Adeyemi when asked about the secret to his speed attributed it to fufu.

“I eat a lot of African foods; I have good genetics from my dad so I think it will be difficult. It is called fufu, and it’s a Nigerian food which is very good,” Karim Adeyemi said.
