Cultists kill Rivers resident
Cultists have attacked Duburo community, Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State, killing a young man identified as Saro Godwin.
A source, who spoke in confidence, said the cult gang invaded the community shooting everywhere and in the process killed Godwin.
The Chairman, Community Development Committee of Duburo, Amb. Vincent Gbosi, said the invaders came through a nearby farm.
He said: “Some boys came into the community through a nearby farm land and opened fire on him while he was relaxing with his friends. This happened around 9:30pm on Wednesday.
“Our concern now is that peace be restored in the community. People are living in fear and we don’t need that. As I speak now, we are making preparation to bury him. We need peace in this community.
“We officially lodged complain to the police at Bori Divisional Headquarters immediately after the incident, and they mobilised to our community.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the development but said peace had been restored in the area.
He said: “I can confirm the incidents in Khana. But our men have been sent there and peace had been restored in the area”.
