Champions League: UEFA Accidentally Announce Winner 2 Weeks Before Final

UEFA accidentally ‘revealed’ this season’s Champions League winners to be Liverpool on their website early on Friday.

At the top of one of the competition’s web pages, the words ‘Season 2017/18’ with Liverpool’s crest could be spotted.

Below the Reds’ badge sat the word ‘Winner’. Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the final in Kiev on May 26, some two weeks away.

Liverpool progressed to the final with a 7-6 aggregate semi-final win over Roma. Despite losing 4-2 on Wednesday, Jurgen Klopp’ side’s emphatic first leg win was enough to see the Reds across the line.
