BREAKING: Amotekun Bill Passed Into Law In Osun

Osun State House of Assembly has passed the Osun Security Network Agency codenamed Amotekun bill into law today.

Naijaparry News reports that the passage was done at the Assembly’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Timothy Owoeye.

The Speaker, while speaking at the plenary, expressed happiness at the eventual passage of the bill saying the bill focused on safety of the people of Southwest and the development of the region.

“I am happy this bill has been passed, I thank and salute my colleague for their patriotism and commitment to the development of our State.

“I equally thank the South West Governor’s forum and the South West Speakers Conference for putting together this bill that focusses on the safety of our people and the development of our region,” the speaker said.

Recall that the Assembly held a public hearing on the bill last week Monday where relevant stakeholders discussed the bill and disclosed their reservations and recommendations.

The bill became necessary following increased killings of farmers, banditry, highway robbery and kidnapping witnessed in the South West region.
