After a one-year hiatus, all roads lead to this year’s highly anticipated edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA 2022).
Founded in 2013, the AMVCA has quickly positioned itself as one of the most prestigious awards shows for rewarding excellence in filmmaking in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.
The organizers of this year’s 8th edition have earmarked an 8-day lineup of events that will climax on the Awards’ night proper, officially slated for May 14.
Popular Nollywood stars Adesua Etomi-Wellington and Daniel Etim Effiong will both co-host a broadcast on Saturday, March 19 to reveal nominees for all 33 categories for this year’s edition. Nominees for the newly introduced Best Online Social Content Creator category are also expected to be featured in the announcements.
Speaking on the broadcast, Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels, MultiChoice Nigeria, said, “We received a good number of quality entries from across the continent for this edition of the AMVCAs and we are pleased to reveal the final shortlist of nominees, which we are confident embody the excellence the awards are renowned for”.
