Her father, Russ Courtnall, was a former ice hockey player who played in the NHL for 16 years from 1983 to 1999. Over the course of his NHL career, he played for various teams, including Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Los Angeles Kings.
