Aisha Yesufu: We’ll Criticise Peter Obi More Than Any Past President

Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls, (BBOG), has said Nigerians will hold the Labour Party (LP) flagbearer, Peter Obi, accountable, if he is elected president in February.

She stated this via her verified Twitter account on Wednesday, noting that he will be criticised more than they have ever done to any politician because much is expected of him.

The activist said Obi will not be compared with the country’s past leaders and his performance will be measured based on the standard of the best leaders in the world.

Yesufu wrote; “We will criticize him more than we have ever criticized any politician because we expect him to deliver more.

We will not compare him to any leader Nigeria has ever had. We will gauge him based on the standard of the best leaders the world has had.”

Meanwhile, Yesufu recently vowed to still vote for the Labour Party, (LP) presidential candidate, if he chooses to step down for any of his counterparts.

She stated that even at gunpoint, if Obi’s name is no longer on the ballot, she would still thumbprint him during the presidential election in 2023.

The socio-political activist was responding to a question from someone who asked if she would choose to support either the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu or the Peoples Democratic Party flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar.

”Dear @AishaYesufu if @PeterObi decided to step down for either atiku or tinubu.

What will do? Join the people u keep insulting or what?” the question read.

According to Yesufu, who is an ardent supporter of the former Anambra state governor, she is not bothered if she turns out to be the only one working hard to make Obi the next president Nigeria.

She said; “I will still vote for him on February 25th 2023, even if I have a gun on my head. I will rather they pull the trigger than support Atiku or Tinubu.

“I am a person of conviction. In 2019 I was the only one that voted for my candidate at my PU and I stayed till 2am to guard my vote”.
