Aisha Yesufu: I’ll Still Vote Peter Obi If He Drops Out of Presidential Race

Co-convener, Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG), Aisha Yesufu, has vowed to still vote for the Labour Party, (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi if he chooses to step down for any of his counterparts.

She stated that even at gunpoint, if Obi’s name is no longer on the ballot, she would still thumbprint him during the presidential election in 2023.

The socio-political activist was responding to a question from someone who asked if she would choose to support either the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Tinubu or the Peoples Democratic Party flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar.

Dear @AishaYesufu if @PeterObi decided to step down for either atiku or tinubu.

What will do? Join the people u keep insulting or what?” the question read.

According to Yesufu, who is an ardent supporter of the former Anambra state governor, she is not bothered if she turns out to be the only one working hard to make Obi the next president Nigeria.

She said; “I will still vote for him on February 25th 2023, even if I have a gun on my head. I will rather they pull the trigger than support Atiku or Tinubu.

“I am a person of conviction. In 2019 I was the only one that voted for my candidate at my PU and I stayed till 2am to guard my vote”.

Meanwhile, Presidential flagbearer of Labour Party, Peter Obi recently said the primary purpose of any government is to take care of the poor.

He stated this during an interview with NTA while talking about his plans to lift millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

Obi reiterated his position that the moment he commences a system which promotes production there will be more revenue to cater to the needs of the less privileged.

The former Anambra state governor, however, said that he is dealing with a criminal structure and he is aware that it will not be easy for him to win but with the help of Nigerian youths it can be done.
