Nurul Aina Abdul Ghani born on 25 October 1993, is a Malaysian singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. Her career began as one of the participants in Mentor Legend Rock as a protégé for singer Ella, where she finished second. She debuted in 2015 with the single “Inyan Kaumafu”.

Aina Abdul was the biggest winner at the Anugerah Juara Lagu 37 (AJL37) held on 12th February 2023, at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur. Aina, who composed and performed Terus Hidup, won the grand prize, and the 30-year-old received RM100,000 and a trophy. The influential singer also received a medal and a Best Vocal Award of RM12,000.

She is the youngest of five children born to Zaini Abdullah and Abdul Gani Abdullah. She received her early education at Mawar National School and then continued her secondary education at Puteri National Secondary School. After earning Sigil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM), Aina continued her studies at UCSI University in Kuala Lumpur, graduating in 2020 and a Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Music in 2021.

Aina Abdul started her music career singing in nightclubs, restaurants, and lounges, including No Black Tie. She was then selected as one of the finalists in the 2010 Shen1Malaysia Rhythm Competition organized by Radio Television Malaysia (RTM). She then went on to win 2nd place with 2011’s Bintang Idola Berita Harian and the following year she won 1st place with PJ’s Golden Voices.

In 2014, Aina Abdul was selected as one of the contestants on The Mentor Legends Show, which also starred Sandra Diane and Sarah Fasney. She successfully finished second. After the dissolution of Mentor Legend, she was selected to represent Malaysia at the 2014 World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Los Angeles, Hollywood, California, USA.

She signed a contract with InDigital and performed on her first single, “Inyan Kaumafu”. Aina Abdul performed her debut English single “Reminiscing” in 2017, followed by her second BI single “Shadows” released in 2018.

She started her acting career playing the role of Irma in the drama Seidah Takdir Cinta. Aina Abdul was a finalist at the 34th Annual Juara Rag Awards and sang her own song “Sumpa” in a brutal performance that sparked controversy on social media, the song contains the theme of suicide, however, she denied this, claiming that her performance was “heartbreaking” and supported by most netizens.

In 2020, Aina Abdul donned a costume of Malaysia’s national flower, Bunga Raya, and became one of the Masked Singer Malaysian contestants to successfully claim the title of champion. On December 26, 2020, she was named Vocalmania Champion along with Aisha Letno as Rookie Champion.

In March 2022, Aina Abdul was selected to decorate a giant digital billboard in Times Square, New York, USA, as part of Spotify’s digital streaming platform’s EQUAL campaign. Aina uses the “Chest Dominant Mix” technique when singing. The resulting sound is very solid and powerful.
